Last year On-Point started organizing ‘Release’, and together with OndaSonora, Laidback and Eckelwood they decided far too many artists stayed in their bedrooms, their art collecting nothing but dust, be it music, paintings, photos or visuals.
So On-Point started digging in the massive that is the Belgian underground electronics. And there they are : with a free-to-download compilation jam-packed with new names for you to discover! Genres ranging from house via broken beats over nitty-gritty funk and boogie to hiphop.
We should feel very privileged that the artists involved allow us to share their music. Although some of them like JtotheC, UpHigh Collective, Title and San Soda left sizeable bleeps on different radars already this year, they all deserve (even) more attention. So feel free to spread the word about this compilation.
All tracks are free but if you want to support RELEASE by donating a few gold nuggets feel free to do so.
Note: If this blows up though On-Point might spend it all on a 100ft yacht they’ll put in a fancy Mediterranean port. But you’ll be the first ones they invite to party on it (I hope!!!)
The third edition of Release is taking place December 11th 2010 at Beursschouwburg in Brussels, for more info check the site.
